About Cycle Charlotte

Cycle Charlotte is a small, unhurried magazine for the parts of the week that belong to you. We write about what to watch tonight, the gadgets that make a living room work better, places worth a long weekend, projects for the house and garden, and the hobbies that eat a pleasant Saturday. Tucked in among all that is a modest cycling corner, because a bike is one of the simplest ways we know to make an ordinary day feel a little lighter.

What we cover

  • Entertainment – series, films, sport on screen and games, from Swedish dramas worth a binge to Minecraft tips for curious builders.
  • Tech at home – internet television, streaming setups, creative software and the small tools that tidy up a digital life.
  • Lifestyle and home – lighting, outdoor spaces, gifting, food shopping and the practical side of moving or decluttering.
  • Travel – destinations with character, such as our notes on Taormina's art and architecture, and ways to make trips smoother.
  • Hobbies – pastimes that range from quiet to airborne.
  • Advantages of Cycling – beginner-friendly bike care, fit and safety, starting with bike commuting tips for beginners.

How we write

Our team is a handful of writers who publish under pen names. None of us claims a professional title, and we would rather say "check with someone qualified" than pretend to be that person. What we offer is careful reading, honest trial and error, and explanations laid out in the order you will need them.

We do not invent statistics, quotes or test results. When advice depends on where you live, such as rules for bike lights or which streaming services are licensed in your country, we tell you to check locally. Safety notes sit in the body of an article, not hidden in small print at the end.

Who reads us

Mostly people who want a friendly starting point: someone setting up a new TV service, a family planning a short break, a renter facing moving week, or a rider whose bike has been gathering dust in the garage. If you already know a topic inside out, you are welcome too, and your corrections make us better.

Things we leave out on purpose

  • Tracking scripts, advertising networks or analytics. The site is built as plain pages.
  • Promises that a shop or service we mention will suit you.
  • Medical, legal or financial guidance dressed up as fact.

Keep in touch

Spotted something out of date, or have a topic you would like us to tackle? The contact page explains how to reach the team. If you are new and want a guided tour, Find Your Way Around is the place to start, and Who Writes Here introduces the people behind the pen names.

From the editor

A magazine for the hours you get to choose

Most of what we publish began as a conversation over coffee: a series one of us could not stop watching, a gadget that finally made the TV behave, a town worth the train fare, a bike that needed rescuing from the shed.

We kept the mix because real weekends are mixed. The common thread is a calm tone, honest limits and practical steps you can follow without a specialist vocabulary.

Wilhelmina, for the team

Two ways to spend an evening

On the sofa or out on the bike?

We write about both because the best weeks usually include a little of each.

A night in

  • A series or film chosen before anyone sits down
  • Home tech that works without a fight
  • Snacks, blankets and the lights turned low
  • Rest that leaves you ready for tomorrow

An hour in the saddle

  • Fresh air and a quiet route you enjoy
  • A bike that fits and has just been checked
  • Helmet on and lights ready if dusk arrives
  • A café stop that turns exercise into an outing

Neither wins outright. The choice depends on the weather, the week and your mood.
